7 beauty products from my skincare routine
Good skin results from a good skincare routine. I'm not a beauty expert but I would still like to share with you the products and habits I follow in my everyday life in order to maintain a healthy skin. The face with which we are born is the only one we have, so we better take good care of it.
Uma boa pele resulta de uma boa rotina. Eu não sou nenhuma expert em cosmética mas, ainda assim, gostava de partilhar convosco os produtos e hábitos que sigo no dia-a-dia de modo a manter a uma pele saudável. O rosto com que nascemos é o único que temos portanto é bom que cuidemos dele.
1. DIOR – LAIT pureté DEMAQUILLANT – CLEANSING MILK
Cleansing the skin is undoubtedly THE most important ritual in my skincare routine. Sleeping with make-up causes premature ageing of the skin, thus taking it off as soon as I get home is my priority. To be honest I like to try new products but the truth is that for almost a decade I've been loyal to this Dior cleansing milk. Usually cleansing gels last much longer than lotions but this one is the exception to the rule, 200ml of it usually last me the whole year. Just one pump of this cream is enough to cleanse my entire face, plus, it leaves the skin shiny and revitalised, therefore there's no need to follow it up with a toner or moisturiser. In addition it's gentle enough to apply on your eyelids, suitable for both young and aged skin.
A limpeza da pele é, sem dúvida, O ritual mais importante da minha rotina de beleza. Dormir com maquilhagem causa envelhecimento precoce da pele, portanto desmaquilhar assim que chego a casa é a minha prioridade. Para ser sincera eu gosto de experimentar novos produtos mas a verdade é que há quase uma década que sou fiel a este desmaquilhante da Dior. Por norma os géis de limpeza duram muito mais do que os cremes mas este leite é a excepção à regra, 200ml do mesmo duram-me o ano inteiro. Apenas uma pequena porção é suficiente para limpar o rosto na totalidade, e, para além disso, deixa a pele brilhante e hidratada dispensando assim da aplicação de um creme ou toner em seguida. Para além disso é suficientemente gentil para se usar no rosto e nos olhos, apropriado tanto para pele jovem como envelhecida.
2. Frezyderm - DE-MAKE UP 4 in 1
I was introduced this year to Frezyderm, a brand that, although kind of new, deserves to be highlighted by the excellence of its products. I've recently tried out their sunscreen range over the Summer and, since then, I've become interested in their products. Frezyderm's De-Make Up 4 in 1 is a budget, but equally effective, option. It's a gentle cleansing milk applicable to the face, eyes and neck. Just as the previous one it doesn't require the use of a moisturiser or toner afterwards. It cleanses, tones, hydrates and refreshes the skin. But what I like the most about it is the lovely smell it leaves on the skin.
Fiquei este ano a conhecer a Frezyderm, uma marca ainda recente mas que merece ser destacada pela excelência dos seus produtos. Experimentei a sua gama de protectores solares durante o verão e, deste então, tenho estado mais atenta à marca. O De-Make Up 4 in 1 da Frezyderm é uma sugestão mais económica mas, ainda assim, igualmente eficiente. É um leite de limpeza gentil aplicável no rosto, olhos e pescoço. Tal como o anterior dispensa a utilização de um creme hidratante ou toner de seguida uma vez que a sua fórmula hidrata, tonifica e refresca a pele. Mas do que eu mais gosto é mesmo do cheirinho agradável que deixa na pele.
3. Dior - Hydra Life - Crème protective pro-jeunesse
The second step of my routine is to hydrate. Moisturising the skin daily is so important as drinking several bottles of water after a day in the Sahara desert. Hydration should happen religiously after a wash or exfoliation since both remove not only the dirt but also the natural oils of the skin that are so essential for its health. Dry skin ages more easily, hence why it's so important to moisturise. Dior's Hydra Life collection represents luxury in every sense of the word, from the packaging to the quality of the product. This moisturiser melts in the skin renewing it with a boost of hydration, improving almost automatically its appearance. It's also very easy to absorb and not greasy at all. And, as if that wasn't enough, it has an incredibly refreshing soft smell.
O segundo ritual da minha rotina é hidratar. Hidratar a pele diariamente é tão importante como beber um garrafão de água depois de um dia no deserto do Sahara. A hidratação deve acontecer religiosamente depois de uma lavagem ou exfoliação uma vez que ambos removem não só a sujidade mas também os óleos naturais da pele que tão essenciais são para a sua saúde. A pele seca envelhece mais facilmente, logo é importante hidratar. A colecção Hydra Life da Dior representa luxo em todo os sentidos da palavra, desde da embalagem à qualidade do produto. Este creme entranha a pele renovando-a com um boost de hidratação, melhorando quase que automaticamente o aspecto da mesma. Ainda que bastante hidratante é de fácil absorção e nada gorduroso. E, como se não bastasse, tem uma suave fragrância incrivelmente refrescante.
4. Frezyderm - Moisturizing Plus
I apply Frezyderm's Moisturizing plus in rotation with the previous one. It's a much more economical option and its consistency is similar to a gel. Once again even though it's very hydrating, it's not greasy. The fact that the packaging is tube-shaped not only makes it much more hygienic but also ensures the preservation of its ingredients. Here's another tip: when moisturising your face, don't forget your neck.
Uso o Moisturizing plus de Frezyderm em rotação com o da Dior. É bem mais económico e sua consistência é semelhante a um gel. Mais uma vez, ainda que bastante hidratante, não é gorduroso. O facto de a embalagem ser em forma de tubo, não só o torna muito mais higiénico mas também garante a preservação dos seus ingredientes. Fica aqui outra dica: ao hidratar o rosto não te esqueças do pescoço.
5. Dior - One Essential - Eye Serum
I usually prefer eye serums instead of creams simply because of the difference in texture which tends to be more liquid and light. The equivalent of a pump will be enough for each eye, the problem is that since you can't see the inside of this package, you don't really know when is it ending. Generally I massage the serum around the eyes gently every morning and evening. It's a premium product but the truth is that since I started using it I notice a big difference. The skin around the eyes becomes more radiant and my dark circles are visibility diminished.
Tendo a preferir serum para olhos em vez de creme simplesmente pela diferença de textura que é por norma mais liquida e leve. O equivalente a um pump é suficiente para cada olho, o problema é que, como não é possível ver o interior da embalagem, não se sabe quando é que está a terminar. Por norma massajo o serum em volta dos olhos suavemente todas as manhãs e noites. Este serum em particular é um produto premium mas a verdade é que desde que comecei a usá-lo noto uma grande diferença. A pele em redor dos olhos fica mais radiante e as olheiras menos acentuadas.
6. The Body Shop - Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow face mask
Another of my skincare rituals is to apply a skin mask once a week in order to get a deeper cleansing, remove excess oils and improve the appearance of the pores. The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow face mask has a mud-like texture. Its formula is a bit thicker than most face masks I know, which means it provides extra exfoliation both when spreading it on and removing. Like other masks this one also changes colour when dried. The Himalaya Charcoal takes about ten minutes to dry, in order to remove it I do gentle circular movements with a wet towel. This mask has been hyped in every beauty blog and now that I've tried it I came to realize the reason for its success. After applying it the skin becomes really soft, luminous and free of impurities and toxins.
Outro dos meus rituais de beleza é aplicar uma máscara de pele uma vez por semana de modo a obter uma limpeza mais profunda, remover os excessos de óleos e melhorar o aspecto dos poros. A The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow tem uma textura semelhante a lama. A sua fórmula é um pouco mais grossa do que a maioria das máscaras que conheço, o que significa que proporciona extra exforliação tanto ao espalhar como ao remover. À semelhança de outras máscaras também esta muda de cor quando seca. A Himalaya Charcoal demora cerca de dez minutos a secar, para a remover recorro a suaves movimentos circulares com a ajuda uma toalha molhada. Esta máscara tem aparecido por tudo o que é blog e, desde que a experimentei, fiquei a perceber o porquê do seu sucesso. Depois da sua aplicação a pele fica realmente suave, luminosa e livre de impurezas e toxinas.
7. Tea Tree Oil
And last but not least, the sacred Tea Tree oil so well known for its medicinal powers. This oil is beneficial for a number of things such as treating eczema, psoriasis and athlete's foot, attenuating scars or even removing make-up. I tend to use Tea Tree oil when a cheeky little spot breaks through. This oil contains strong antibacterial ingredients that help reducing inflammation. All you need is just a few drops of the magical Tea Tree oil to unblock sebaceous glands. It not only disinfects the pores but also dries out whiteheads. My advice is to buy the oil in its purest version and not a cream that only contains a small amount of it in its ingredients, it will be much more affective.
E, por último, temos o sagrado Tea Tree oil tão conhecido pelos seus poderes medicinais. Este óleo é benéfico para uma série de coisas tais como, tratar eczemas psoríase e pé de atleta, atenuar cicatrizes e até há quem o use para remover a maquilhagem. Eu tendo a usar tea tree oil quando me aparece uma borbulha marota. Este óleo contém fortes ingredientes antibacterianos que auxiliam na redução de inflamações. Tudo o que necessitas são apenas umas gotas deste óleo milagroso para “desentupir” glândulas sebáceas. Não só desinfecta os poros como também seca as borbulhas. O meu conselho é que compres o óleo na sua mais pura versão e não um creme que apenas contenha uma pequena quantidade do mesmo nos seus ingredientes, verás que assim será muito mais eficaz.
