Velvety sweet dreams
Quando me mudei para Londres achei estranho que as pessoas, especialmente ao fim-de-semana, andassem de pijama no supermercado, coisa que não me lembro de ver em Portugal. Mal sabia eu que estava a assistir aos primórdios de uma tendência universal. Hoje sou eu quem sai assim à rua em modo Hugh Hefner! Eu não sou muito fiel a tendências e, na realidade, demorei um tempão a aderir a esta mas, como o conforto é a minha prioridade, agora sinto-me como peixe na água. Ainda não aderi à tendência do chinelo mas cheira-me que também não falta muito. Na verdade isto das tendências é tudo uma questão de atitude, porque se há coisa que nunca sai de moda é o amor próprio. Uma das coisas que mais valorizo em Londres é a possibilidade de ser quem eu sou sem me sentir julgada. É um privilégio viver numa cultura que aceita tão bem a individualidade de cada um. Por isso, tu que me lês, onde quer que estejas, arrisca, porque independentemente do teu outfit o sorriso que tens vestido é o que te fica melhor.
When I moved to London, I found it a bit odd that, especially during the weekend, people would wear their pyjamas in the supermarket, which I can't remember happening in Portugal. If only I knew I was witnessing the beginning of a universal trend...Now I'm the one who goes out in this Hugh Hefner outfit! I am not very loyal to trends and, in fact, it took me a long time to adhere to this one but, as comfort is my priority, I now feel like a fish in water. I haven't yet given in to the slipper trend but I bet it won't take me too long. To be honest, fashion is just a matter of attitude, if there's something that never goes out of style is self-love. I must say that one of the things I value the most in London is the possibility of being who I am without feeling judged. It's a privilege to live in a culture that let us celebrates our individuality. On that note, you, who reads my musings, wherever you are, take risks! Because regardless of what your outfit is, the smile you wear is what suits you the best.
