Canggu
Canggu foi a segunda paragem deste nosso roteiro pela Indonésia. Do que mais gostei foi mesmo dos restaurantes que visitei e da villa onde fiquei hospedada cujo os donos são Portugueses. Seja em Bali ou em qualquer outra parte do mundo, quando um Português encontra outro Português sente-se em casa. O povo lusitano tem sempre os braços abertos para os seus, como se que a cultura que ambos partilham fosse voto de confiança suficiente para uma amizade imediata. É curiosa esta forma de nos relacionarmos fora do nosso país, nestas minhas viagens pelo mundo, ou mesmo em Londres, sempre que oiço a língua Portuguesa dou por mim a querer meter-me na conversa, a apresentar-me e conhecer novos irmãos...Bem, de volta ao assunto principal, vou confessar-vos que não morri de amores por Canggu. Do que eu menos gostei foi das estradas com muito trânsito onde até respirar se torna complicado. Se optarem por alugar uma scooter aconselho-vos que conduzam com uma máscara ou um lenço de modo a proteger o nariz e a boca. Não esperem encontrar praias paradisíacas ou vistas bonitas, quem vem a Canggu vem para comer bem, surfar, fazer yoga, ver o sol a pôr-se no mar ou, simplesmente, viver a vida balinense.
Canggu was the second stop of our trip around Indonesia. What I liked the most in Canggu were the restaurants we visited and the villa where we stayed, whose owners are Portuguese. Whether in Bali or anywhere else in the world, when a Portuguese meets another Portuguese one feels at home. The lusitanian people always have their arms open to their own, as if the culture they both share were enough for an immediate friendship. It's curious how we, the Portuguese, behave outside our country, during trips, or even in London, whenever I hear my mother language I always find myself wanting to be part of the conversation, to introduce myself and meet new brothers and sisters...Well, back to the main subject, I must confess that I didn't fall in love with Canggu like many of my friends did, it's all a matter of taste after all. What I didn't like were the busy roads where it's even difficult to breathe due to the traffic. If you choose to rent a scooter I highly advise you to wear a mask or a scarf in order to protect your nose and mouth. Don't expect to find paradisiac beaches or beautiful landscapes, if you come to Canggu you must know this is a place for you to enjoy eating well, surfing, doing yoga, watching the sun go down in the sea and simply live the balinese life.

Aconselho alugar uma scooter o que deverá custar cerca de 50k IDR ao dia. / I recommend renting a scooter which should cost about 50k IDR a day.

P.s: Mesmo ao lado de Canggu fica Seminyak. Seminyak está atolado de turistas, à exceção de um ou outro restaurante giro eu diria que não vale a pena lá irem. / Right next to Canggu there's Seminyak. Seminyak is bogged down by tourists, with the exception of a few swinging restaurants I would say it's not worth visiting.
