My Dad's Wedding Suit Jacket
I writing this post from my parent's home in the Algarve, I've been here for a week now preparing for the character I'll be playing in the new TVI's TV drama, “Value of Life” that will premier at some point this September. Life takes many turns, when I was in Portugal on vacation I did an audition for this project and I got the role, meaning that until December I'll be in Portugal on and off. I am very happy to be working again in my country and to return to the screens. Nevertheless it's a bit bittersweet because I'm already homesick and missing my fiancé.
Escrevo este post na minha casa do Algarve onde estou há uma semana a preparar-me para a personagem que vou representar na novela Valor da Vida que estreia este Setembro na TVI. A vida dá muitas voltas, quando estive em Portugal de férias fiz um casting para este projecto e fiquei com o papel o que quer dizer que até Dezembro andarei por terras lusas. Estou muito contente de estar a trabalhar novamente no meu país e de voltar aos ecrãs. No entanto o sentimento é um bocadinho agri-doce porque também já estou cheia de saudades da minha casinha em Londres e do meu noivo.
There's more, this Saturday, September 8th, we will be presenting at Comi Con Portugal our film Solum, which was made with a lot of love and hard work. Morgado brothers wish to revolutionise the Portuguese film industry, and have worked really hard to bring this film to life. Working with them and watching their closeness and ambition was, at the very least, inspiring. I would love for you to come to the presentation if you can. If you do, come and give me a hug!
As novidades não ficam por aqui, este sábado dia 8 de Setembro, iremos apresentar no Comi Con Portugal o nosso filme Solum, um filme feito com muito amor e trabalho árduo. Os irmãos Morgado ambicionam revolucionar o cinema português. Trabalhar com eles e assistir por de perto à sua união e determinação é, no mínimo, inspirador. Adorava que viessem à apresentação do filme se puderem e, se assim for, venham dar-me um beijinho!
Since I'm in the Algarve I took the opportunity to meet with my friend David Piedade who took these photos. At first I came to Portugal for only a week, and since I hate to pack and carry heavy luggage around, I only brought one small hand bag. It turns out that by now I've practically wore everything I brought so I had to dig into my mother's wardrobe, but also into my father's! Yap, for real... This jacket you see me wearing, was what my father wore when he married my mother in the early 90's. Sometimes we think we have nothing to wear but it's all a matter of playing with what we got and being creative.
Já que estou no Algarve aproveitei para me reunir com o meu amigo David Piedade que me tirou estas fotografias. Inicialmente eu vinha a Portugal só uma semana e, como odeio fazer malas e carregá-las, vim só com uma de mão. Acontece que entretanto já usei praticamente tudo o que trouxe então o que fiz foi recorrer ao guarda-roupa da minha mãe, mas também ao do meu pai! É verdade este casaco que me veêm aqui a usar foi o que o meu pai usou quando se casou com a minha mãe no íncio dos anos 90. Às vezes pensamos que não temos nada para vestir mas é uma questão de olhar para o que temos com outros olhos e brincar.
I think, these are some of the photos I took for the blog that I like the most. Maybe photographing with a Portuguese brother and being in my natural habitat, the beach, are the reason why. It feels good to be back... Back to the seaside, back to my people and back to acting full time. Well, now that I've got you up to date with the latest news I'm going to crack on with some work because I have a lot of scripts to read. Speak soon xx
Estas talvez sejam das fotografias que tirei para o blog de que mais gosto. Se calhar fotografar com um irmão Algarvio e estar no meu habitat natural, a praia, contribui para que elas saiam assim. Sabe bem estar de volta... De volta ao mar, de volta aos meus e de volta à ficção nacional. Bom, agora que já vos pus a par das mais recentes novidades vou voltar ao trabalho porque tenho muitos guiões para ler. Até já xx
